Returns Policy
If you change your mind about your purchase please let us know by emailing hello(@)gardenstatecandles.com. We request that the items should be returned to us, unused and within the original packaging within 14 days of purchase and we will offer you an exchange, credit or a full refund. This does not affect your usual consumer rights, including your right to claim a refund, replacement, repair and/or compensation where the goods are faulty or misdescribed. The cost of returning any item is at the Customer's own expense. The only exception to this is if the item is faulty or was sent by us in error.
We recommend that you return items via registered mail so that you have proof of dispatch in case the item is lost. We do not bear responsibility for lost items.
Please ensure you have sufficient insurance cover especially when returning valuable products. We cannot accept responsibility for goods lost or damaged in transit. Any import duties that may arise for shipping and returned items will need to be covered by you.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging for resale, which must not be used as the outer packaging for your mailing purposes. Several types of goods are exempt from being returned:

Returns must be notified to us in advance via email, with the explanation of the reason for the return. Do not send goods without our prior knowledge. If bought in store, we require a receipt as proof of purchase and will not accept a return without a receipt.
Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer. There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted

Damaged Items
If your item(s) arrive damaged or broken, please email us with photo evidence within 48hrs, our standard Returns Policy is 14 days.

Shipping Policy
1. Shipping Origin
All orders are shipped from Berlin, Germany.
2. Shipping Methods
We offer the following shipping options at checkout:
- Tracked Shipping (via DHL or another shipping carrier)
- Untracked Shipping — clearly labeled at checkout as “NO TRACKING”
By selecting a shipping method, the customer expressly agrees to the conditions associated with that option.
3. Untracked Shipping – Customer Responsibility
If the customer selects NO TRACKING, they acknowledge and accept the following:
- The shipment cannot be traced or investigated once dispatched.
- No delivery confirmation or proof of receipt can be provided.
- In the event the shipment is lost, delayed, or not received, we are unable to verify its whereabouts.
We provide proof of dispatch (e.g. shipping confirmation, postage receipt) for all orders, including untracked shipments.
4. Loss, Non-Delivery & Refunds
- No refunds or replacements are provided for lost untracked shipments, once proof of dispatch has been established, to the extent permitted by law.
- Customers who require delivery security are strongly advised to select a tracked shipping option.
5. Legal Notice – German Consumer Law
This policy is written in accordance with German law, including but not limited to:
- §§ 474–475 German Civil Code (BGB) — Consumer Goods Contracts
- § 447 BGB — Transfer of risk (applicable only where legally permitted)
Nothing in this Shipping Policy limits or excludes mandatory statutory consumer rights under German or EU law. Any provisions regarding liability for loss apply only insofar as legally permissible and do not affect rights that cannot be waived by agreement.
6. Shipping Carriers
We primarily ship via DHL, but may use other reputable shipping carriers where appropriate.
7. Incorrect Address & Delivery Failures
- Customers are responsible for ensuring that the shipping address provided is complete and accurate.
- We are not responsible for lost shipments due to incorrect or incomplete address information provided by the customer.
- Reshipping costs will apply where an order is returned due to address errors.
8. Acceptance of Shipping Terms
By placing an order on our website, the customer confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted this Shipping Policy, including the risks associated with selecting *NO TRACKING*.
